意大利技术研究院

意大利技术研究院 (缩写做IIT,英语:Italian Institute of Technology) 是由意大利政府在2003年成立的科学研究中心,总部设在热那亚。其主要目标是通过面向应用和技术的研究,推动意大利和全世界的科学发展。IIT的员工总数约为1500人,其中不同专业方向的科研人员占85%。约45%的研究人员来自国外,这里面包括29%由来自50多个国家的外国人和16%从国外返回的意大利人。IIT的研究人员平均年龄为34岁。根据知识和科学主题的互补性,IIT将科学研究活动分成不同的相互紧密联系的研究领域:机器人,神经科学,新材料,计算机和人工智能,以及纳米药物开发。  2016年6月,科学杂志“Nature”杂志将IIT列入世界科研前100名的大学和研究所的名单中,这是2012年至2015年自然指数中出版质量得分最高的科研机构的全球排名。IIT是欧洲FET“石墨烯”旗舰项目的主要合作伙伴之一。 除了热那亚总部,IIT在意大利还有11个研究中心(分别设立在都灵,米兰,特伦托,罗马,比萨,那不勒斯,莱切,费拉拉)和美国的两个研究中心(麻省理工学院和哈佛大学)。

Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia 

The Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) (in English: Italian Institute of Technology) is a scientific research centre based in Genova, Italy, and funded by Italian law in 2003. Its mission is promoting excellence in basic and applied research and encouraging the development of the national economy. IIT staff consists of approximately 1500 members, 85% of them are dedicated to the scientific area. 45% of researchers came from abroad: of these, 29% are foreigners from more than 50 countries and 16% are Italian repatriates. Average age is 34 years. Research activities are interdisciplinary, dealing with interconnected topics such as robotics, neuroscience, new materials, computation and AI, nanomedicine.  In 2016 Nature Index ranked IIT among the 100 research institutes and universities in the world that have published scientific articles in high impact journals in the period 2012-2015. IIT is one of the main partners of the European FET-Flagship project "Graphene". Besides the Central Lab in Genova, IIT has 11 research centres in the country (in Turin, Milan, Trento, Rome, Pisa, Naples, Lecce, Ferrara) and 2 in the USA (MIT and Harvard).

IIT - Graphene Labs 

The Italian Institute of Technology's Graphene labs are dedicated to the development of a new generation of smart materials based on graphene and other 2D layered materials. By breaking through key technologies, we demonstrate and promote graphene in a series of applications of new energy, nanomaterials, optoelectronics and biotechnology, and enhance the transformation of technological achievements.

研究方向

1. 原材料的研究和生产:主要通过液相剥离法方法生产客户要求,精确控制石墨烯和其他二维晶体的尺寸和厚度,得到最优性能的材料。能够通过对比材料性能和应用方向,提出了一整套技术解决方案。实验室已经实现大规模生产,拥有成套生产线,能够满足在工业级应用的需要,还能保证环保需要进行溶液交换制作环保型油墨等。

Research 

1. 2D materials production: the integration of graphene and other two-dimensional (2D) materials are produced by liquid phase expiation method. A novel solution exchange process is developed to synthesize environmentally-friendly based inks. Large scalable production is promising for the industrial level applications.

2. 能量转换和储能器件:将石墨烯和其他2D材料集成到能源转换设备,如光伏发电、燃料电池、氢气发电设备,同时开发超级电容器、锂离子/钠离子电池和氢气储存系统,来应对日益增长的全球能源需求所带来的挑战。

2. Energy conversion and storage: the integration of graphene and other 2D materials in energy conversion devices, e.g., photovoltaic, fuel cells, hydrogen generation devices offers opportunities to tackle challenges driven by the increasing global energy demand. We also develop supercapacitors, batteries and gas storage systems based on graphene and other 2D crystals, and evaluate the electrochemical activity of model graphene systems.

3. 2D materials engineering: graphene inks are used in fabrics, such as paper and tissue, for obtaining conductive properties. Adding graphene to polymers allows realizing 3D printed conductive materials. A new set of electrodes based on graphene and other 2D materials is established through the development of different deposition methods according to the applications of photovoltaic modules, transistor and batteries.

4. Industry projects: our long-term strategic goal is to provide R&D and technical support to foreign partners. We are also very willing to provide innovative enterprises for the market demand for research and development of materials, such as graphene ink and composite materials.

5. Biomedical Technologies: we study the impact of graphene-related materials (GRMs) in vitro on lung, skin, gastric and renal barriers as well as the impact on neuronal cells and tissues. We also exploit the conductive properties of graphene in 2D neural interfaces and study the physiology of neuronal cells and biological barriers challenged with GRMs. The metabolomics and proteomics of graphene are evaluated with biological systems.

6. 基础研究:我们的目标是开发基于超高品质的石墨烯和其他二维晶体新概念器件系统,通过计算模拟等方式发掘石墨烯在这类原型器件中的应用潜力。

6. Fundamental Research: we target the development of device concepts based on ultra-high quality encapsulated graphene systems, the exploratory studies of 2D crystals and the prototype of van der Waals materials composed of graphene and other 2D crystals.
