Elisa Mantero received her M.Sc. degree in Chemistry, with a specialization in Physical Organic Chemistry in 2005, at the University of Genoa. She focused her studies on macromolecular chemistry and on technology of polymers and materials. After her undergraduate studies she joined the “Centro di Cultura per l’Ingegneria delle Materie Plastiche” (CDCMP) of the Politecnico di Torino, where she worked on a project involving the addition of inorganic additives to cellulosic polymeric matrices. Later on, she shifted her interests towards industrial experiences working as technician for different chemical companies in Italy, where she was in charge of R&D and technology transfer activities.
In the industrial context, she mainly focused on the formulation of polyurethanic dispersions in water and polyurethanic-based thickeners for paints as well as formulation of water-based and solvent-based paints for applications ranging from construction industry, to interior design and yachting.
In June 2015 she joined IIT as a laboratory technician with the role to support the scientific staff of the Graphene Labs working in the production and prototyping of graphene-based inks and other 2D materials for printing and coating of different type of devices both for academic and industrial projects.
Elisa has always been keen in the participation and organization of conferences and workshops. In particular she was a member of the organization committee of “Eurocoat”, an international event dedicated to paints.
