About

I have obtained my 5 years integrated Master degree in Photonics from International School of Photonics, Cochin University of Science and Technology, India in 2014 which is an interdisciplinary course emphasizing on Nano technology, Laser technology, Spectroscopy, Optoelectronics, Fiber optics, Non-linear optics etc on the firm foundations of basic physics, mathematics, electronics and computer science. My master thesis (Macquarie university and Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, Sydney, Australia) involved fabrication and study of plasmonic dichroism in noble metals.

Currently I am a doctoral researcher in Graphene Labs, Italian Institute of Technology and Department of Physics, University of Genova, Italy. My current research project focuses on the fabrication of novel nanostructures in graphene, gold and hybrid systems and investigation of their electrical, optical and plasmonic properties. My areas of expertise include graphene and other 2-D materials (production and characterization), plasmonics, nano fabrication (Electron beam lithography), nano photonics and optoelectronics.

Projects

Current: Tunable plasmonic devices using graphene/gold nano-fractals, 2014-present. Supervisor: Dr. Vittorio Pellegrini, Director, GrapheneLabs, IIT, Genova, Italy.

♦ Fabrication and study of plasmonic dichroism in silver, gold and alloy nanoparticles, 2013-2014. Supervisor: Prof. Ewa Goldys (Director, MQ BioFocus Research Centre, Department of Physics and Astronomy) at Macquarie university, Sydney, and Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), Australia.

♦ Raman studies of graphene oxide thin films after sonication induced defect formation, 2013. Supervisor: Dr. Manu Jaiswal, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M), Chennai, Tamilnadu.

♦ Capacitance-Voltage studies and Mott- Schottky analysis of P3HT based organic bulk hetero junction solar cells under dark and illuminated ambience, 2012. Supervisor: Prof. Manoj A G Namboothiry, Assistant Professor, School of Physics, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
