Lieselot Deleye graduated in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Leuven (KULEUVEN, Belgium) in 2013. From 2013 to 2017 she did her Phd at the lab of pharmaceutical biotechnology at the University of Ghent, where she specialized in DNA sequencing, single cell whole genome amplification and developed a method to implement massively parallel sequencing in preimplantation genetic diagnosis.
In the following two/three years she worked as a post-doc at the Italian institute of technology (IIT) in Genova, at the lab of plasmon nanotechnologies. There she focused her research on RNA capture and sequencing and plasmid delivery through nanopillars from/into individual live cells.
In November 2020 she started as a senior post-doc at the NSYN center of IIT, where she joined the Graphene flagship. She is currently involved in assessing the neurotoxicity of graphene on primary sensory/motor neuron cultures and BBB organoids.
