Dr. Saad Megahed joined the Nanobiointeractions & Nanodiagnostics Laboratory at the Instituto Italiano di Tecnologia IIT, Genova in 2024, where his research focuses on the biological applications of nanozymes. He completed his Ph.D. in 2022 at the University of Hamburg, Germany, specializing in nanobiointeractions of nanoparticles. During his doctoral studies, Dr. Saad developed expertise in the synthesis of various inorganic nanoparticles and the tailoring of their surface chemistry to study protein corona formation and cellular uptake.
After earning his Ph.D., and before joining IIT, He took on a dual role as a part-time Research Scientist at the American University in Cairo and a Lecturer in Biophysics at Al-Azhar University. In these positions, he continued to advance his research on nanozymes while also dedicating time to teaching and mentoring students, sharing his knowledge and passion for biophysics and nanotechnology.
